The event of the century is drawing closer and

YOU can play a pivotal role in making it a success!

We are very proud to announce that St. Thomas Aquinas High School will be the athletes village for Archery, Cross Country Skiing, Squash and Wrestling Athletes during the Alberta Winter Games, February 9-12^th, 2012. In addition, STA will act as a sport venue for Archery, where Alberta’s top talent will compete head to head!

Our involvement with the AWG is part of a greater initiative taken by the Evergreen Catholic School Board to support community initiatives and youth athletic development in Alberta.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!!!

STA is in NEED of parent/community/student volunteers to act as Sport Venue Supervisors. In addition, we also require parent/community volunteers (18 years of age or older) to fill the role of Athlete Village Supervisors.

The Sport Venue Supervisors will be scheduled to work during the Archery event times on February 10-11^th (TBA). The Athlete Village Supervisors will be scheduled to work 6 hour shifts – both day and night time shifts are available. The scheduled shifts are as follows:

12pm – 6pm     6pm – 12am      12am – 6am      6am – 12pm

You can work just one shift, or multiple! All AWG volunteers will receive an official Alberta Winter Games jacket, along with an accreditation tag that provides you with FREE access to ALL Alberta Winter Games sport venues.

To volunteer, you can pick up a registration form from the office at STA; however, we highly encourage you to register online at www.2012awg.ca. Remember to choose STA as the athletes’ village or sports venue site you wish to volunteer for. Criminal record checks are required, but FREE of charge when you register for the AWG.
